Three ways to play.
Choose a server, invite your friends, and join the same match. Game files download after you choose.

YOUR OWN GAME
Play with your people.
Join a friend's server by address, host on your home network, or run a dedicated server on a VPS.
Host a LAN game
On the Windows PC with this game project, open PowerShell in the game folder. Run one of these commands:
./Start-Server.ps1 -Port 27960 -MaxPlayers 8
For zombie co-op:
./Start-Beach-Defense.ps1 -Port 27962 -MaxPlayers 8
Keep that PC running. Friends on the same Wi-Fi or LAN open the LAN address printed by the launcher. If Windows blocks access, run this once from an Administrator PowerShell:
./Start-Server.ps1 -Port 27960 -FirewallOnly
Use port 27962 instead for co-op. Starting a LAN server happens on the host PC; this webpage cannot start a process on your computer.
Host on your own VPS
Install Node.js 24 or newer. Copy this project's application and your game assets to the VPS, then run:
npm install --omit=dev HOST=127.0.0.1 PORT=27960 MAX_PLAYERS=8 node server.mjs
Keep the process running with a service manager and put HTTPS plus a WebSocket-capable reverse proxy in front of it. Use GAME_MODE=defense for zombie co-op, or MAP=mp_ctfmultidemo for CTF.
The project includes the systemd and Nginx templates in deploy/, plus a full hosting guide in HOSTING.md. Give friends the finished server URL and they can use “Join by server address” above.
